Total expenses paid out were $178.26 for Lake Maintenance and Entertainment leaving a balance of $10,260.72. It was reported that all homeowners have paid their HOA dues. Dick Hassler made a motion to approve the Treasurerʼs Report as presented and Dianne Simmons seconded the motion. All approved.
Old Business
- Lakes — Warren Stevenson and Dick Hassler sprayed the Rodeo for the cattails. It was decided that a work party will be formed in January or February 2015 to top off the cattails. Warren and Dick also sprayed the Cutrine at both lakes to get rid of the algae on the top of the lakes and this process will be repeated in the spring.
- Gazebo – It has been decided that the gazebo will be dismantled on October 5th so that it can be put into the Fall dumpster. An eBlast will be sent out by Marcia Retchless letting all homeowners know of the work party in hopes that many will show up to help. What to do with the empty land where the Gazebo stood was discussed and than tabled at this time.
- 4th of July Party – The Twin Lakes 4th of July celebration was a big success. A special thanks to Dianne Simmons for organizing the evening, Sheila and Russ Dickey for putting together a baseball game for the kids and Alan Haynes for running the watermelon contest and obtaining this yearʼs fireworks display which was magnificent. Thanks to all who participated and helped make this yearʼs celebration a good time for all.
- Roads – Work was done on 136th street to rid it of the bad patchwork that had been applied. They are much smoother now and easier on our vehicles. Resurfacing of the roads in the Twin Lakes subdivision is on the countyʼs schedule for the spring if there is funding available.
- Warren Stevenson repaired the signs at the lake. He also checked the condition of the “no trespassing” purple paint to be sure it was still visible.
- Russ Dickey has gotten the Twin Lakes website up and running. Kim Parker will ask him to submit his invoice and have it cover thru December 2014.
New Business
- Lake Passes – There have been complaints about the size of the lake passes required to be worn/displayed by residents and guests when at the lake. It was decided by the board that they will remain the size they are.
- Dumpster – The Fall Dumpster will arrive on Oct. 6 and be placed in the Scottie Circle cul-de-sac. It was stated that tires, batteries, paint, and chemicals are not allowed to be put in the dumpster.
- Rip Rap – Rip Rap rock will be put along the edge of the small lake this fall to help with erosion. The cost of the rock is $500.
- Mowing – The TLHA has requested Warren Stevenson to submit his bill for the 2014 mowing of the common areas at the lakes. It was discussed that when Warren goes on vacation, he and/or the board should make sure we have volunteers lined up for mowing and maintenance while he is gone.
- Halloween Party – The 2014 Halloween party will be held Fri. Oct 31. The hot dogs and food will start being available at 6:00 pm and the wagons for trick-or-treating will leave at 7:00 pm. Greg and Linda Snodgrass are in charge of organizing the event and the members of the board will see if they need any assistance. Kim Parker offered to pick up whatever supplies the Snodgrasses request. Chad and Keith Switzer will be asked if they would be willing to drive the tractors around that evening. Signs will be put up in the neighborhood about the party and the sheriffs department will be asked if they can patrol the neighborhood that evening.
There being no further business Sharon Hanson motioned to adjourn at 8:33 pm. Dick Hassler seconded the motion. All approved.
Next meeting will be held wednesday, November 19 at 7:00 pm at the home of Marcia Retchless.
Respectfully submitted Sharon Hanson, Secretary September 22, 2014
